Side Project Saturdays

For the last few months I’ve been running an event called Side Project Saturdays (SPS). Hosted out of Val.town’s office, it’s a small gathering with the intent to kick off the weekend on a positive note.

This isn’t so much a new event as a revival of a previous event that was quite dear to me: Peer labs. My friends Ash Furrow and Orta Therox organized peer labs while I was working at Artsy. Orta and Ash have both moved out of the city and peer labs ended with the Pandemic began. I’ve missed it. I’ve missed having a reason to get up early on Saturday. I’ve missed having a set time every week to work on something for me. So that’s what SPS is. Nothing more grand or ambitious than that.
